Target group: Students whoalready have basic drawingskills and want to explorecolor, depth, and illustration techniques.
Course description
This coursebuilds on existingdrawingskills and introduces students to the world of color illustration. Students willlearnhow to usealcohol markers and colored pencils to bring their sketches to life with vibrantcolor, volume and dimension.
Weekly plan
• Week 1 – Introduction to alcohol markers: colorcharts, blending practice, layering basics
• Week 2 – Using colored pencils: shading, burnishing, and addingtexture over markers
• Week 3 – Combiningtechniques: planningcompositions, creatingdepth and light
• Week 4 – Final project: a finishedcolored illustration using mixed techniques
Materials needed
(Only buy once we confirm whether the class will start)
• Alcohol marker paper (any brand, suitable for markers)
• Alcohol markers (suggested: Winsor & Newton)
• Colored pencils (suggested: Derwent)
